A question I have is whether Europa's citing of only one incident
involving a plane with several "landing mishaps" is to be taken
literally and no more, or are they in retrospect concerned over the
integrity of the design? In the U.S., law could have the practical
effect of preventing FAA from issuing an AD based on these facts,
absent clear engineering analysis/testing to say there's a problem.

Since I have the trigear, I wonder also if I'm at least exposure to
whatever problem lurks, because I won't be experience jarring of the
tail ass'y during T/O, landing, and taxiing on turf. Has there been
impending failure noted on inspection of turf-bouncing monowheels with
hundreds of hours on them? Can anyone shed any light on this
viewpoint?

Reg,
Fred F.
