Hi Remi and others,
I will add my 2 pence to this thread.
I have experience with GRT and their products. I have installed the
Sport on my Europa
and have installed other GRT products for other folks on other aircraft.
I am very pleased with the GRT line of EFIS. I plan on installing a
Mini-X on the Little Toot Sport Biplane that I am currently building.

Hi Remi,

If you would like to replace your vacuum gyro display, I suggest that
you consider the Grand Rapids Technology range of Mini products - the
Mini=93B, Mini-X and Mini-AP. Grand Rapids is a reliable and very
high quality company which has been in the business for many years. For
example, they have over 22,000 of their EIS engine instrumentation units
in flight. The features and synthetic vision which can be packed into
the Mini units are truly remarkable. Jeppesen data bases are available
for Europe.
I would have no hesitation in using this equipment in actual IMC. For
example, 'Highway in the Sky' (HITS) is particularly useful. At a $1,395
base price, the Mini-X unit is excellent value and will drive autopilot
servos with basic heading and altitude select, plus GPS tracking. See

If you scroll down, you will find the list of features.
I happen to use a Dynon D10A which lacks many of the Mini features and
is more expensive. However, when I bought my equipment, the GRT Mini
units were not available.

Subject: Europa-List: TruTrak Gemini ADI
I am planning to replace my mechanical gyro instruments and get rid of
the vacuum system. I am not contemplating a big screen PFD but would
install a 3-1/4" electronic AI. The TruTrak Gemini ADI would have my
preference, but I am puzzled by the singularity of the pitch display
which is not actual pitch attitude.
My question to those who are using this instrument is: how easy is it to
use it in simulated or actual IMC?
