RE: With regret

For each message posted there are links to allow you to "Ignore This User"
and "Report Abuse" and if you find someone's post to be offensive it is
rather simple to "Ignore This User" after using the link to "Turn Ignore
On." So much for the porn problem. For the record, never have any postings
in the Message Board I monitor been off topic let alone off color.

Spam is a bit harder to deal with mainly because it isn't possible to find
out why it arrived in your mailbox. By definition it's not Spam if the
sender tells you why you got the message, and you got it because you
(perhaps indirectly) asked to get such messages. Why assume it is the fault

we trust? Or, to rephrase that, how can we be sure that ANY comparable
service could be trusted?

In the absence of data to support claims of porn, Spam, and privacy
violations, where's the problem? All together now, let's all make like
Buffalo Springfield in 1966 and sing a bit of Stephen Stills' "For What It's
Worth"

Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away

Come on Tony, stay with the group. (Please?)

Best regards,

As I've never been on a Yahoo group, I have no experience of the problems
cited - but I must agree that Tony is a major figure in our Europa world,
and one whose judgement I'm sure we respect (about aircraft directly, but
then by inference also in the world of IT and the net). So if he is unhappy
about Yahoo then I guess it is a real issue; and if he is to be lost to the
group that would be a real blow. As Shaun says, this is not a criticism of
John's efforts, we can I'm sure see the attractions of the Yahoo route -
but it seems that its negative points may only be apparent to those who
have used it?

I really hope a resolution can be found - this is a super group we have
here (as the aircraft itself deserves!), and surely a very valuable
resource to builders (not that I can speak from experience in that
department yet!). It would be a real tragedy to spoil it.

John, not to criticise your efforts in setting this up. Tony, can you
offer
a better list server?

How do I find out the privacy policy and safeguards operative on the Yahoo
list server?
I've been getting far too many Viagra and "enhancer" spam of late.

Seesh, nothing's perfect.
