No problem... i was once where you are now... watch some youtube videos on 
slicing
and print tuning; keep a journal of settings changes and results... you'll
get there... PETG is probably going to get better results once you get the hang
of it all, and PLA can be rock solid and robust also.... don't buy budget 
filament,
it will drive you insane with frustration.
