A heat shield below the carb bowls is not essential but highly desirable. O
therwise the fuel will boil when taxiing on a hot day.You can easily make t
hem yourself out of something like firewall material with a small aluminum
bracket=2C which is attached to the top bolt of the exhaust pipe.
