I used 2 miniture eyeball cockpit lights P/N 11-07800 @ $13.95 each thru
Aircraft Spruce.  They are small single white LED's positioned in the
overhead.  Just enough to faintly light the instrument panel or can be used
for chart work.  I backed these up with a small articulating light holding 4
red LED's.  This used to be available thru Aircraft Spruce but is no longer
carried.
