Joseph,

I'm interested to hear the response on this one too.

What is the weight of the 912S vs. 3300??

One further question. What is the take off and landing statistics for the
Europa at MAUW?? (Unfortunately I don't have the figures. Is there anywhere
on the web I can access them please?)

I ask because

I have just purchased a (flying) Trigear (hoping to collect it next week)
with a Subaru and vp prop. There is a big problem with the weight, I know
and due to the weight in the front it has some lead in the tail!! Double
whammy. Im working on the principal that I will see how I get on and if it
performs well then I will just be restricted on the weight of my
passenger/fuel load. Inevitably I will be flying close to MAUW (1370) quite
often. The VP does really help it gives it some grunt on take off. When in
the cruise the revs go from 4500 to 3300 with pitch adjustment and the fuel
burn is 16.8 litres per hour for 110 knots IAS.

If this is a problem in the future then I can change for a lighter engine
but for now if the Subaru treats me well then I will stick with it.

Thanks all the best

Kevin

Hi all, I'm one of the ones that has been kicked off the net. Thanks to
John 's temp fix I'm now receiving
msgs after about a month off.

I'm writing because I'm at the stage where I need to make a decision on
my power plant. Because of the
cost, the 914 is out. So I between the Jabiru 3300 and the 912S. I've
also been thinking of the prince P-tip
prop.

I only know of one Europa flying with the Jabiru engine. The club files
show several more but no info from
anyone has been forth coming. I would love to hear some opinions on the
Jabiru 3300 verse the Rotax
912S.
