I appreciate Nevelle's concern and I agree the top should be on whenever you
do anything on wing setting. I am doing mine at the moment and my approach
is to have it on fixed with clecos at 10" centres in tight holes. I then
take it off again to access the dificult bits such as fitting the cross
brace. My logic is that when I come to bond on the top it cannot be more
than about +/- 0.1mm from the position in which all the work was done.

I have done the Graham mods for the counterweight and rear bulkhead.

Cleve,

Can you give a little more detail on Graham's mod? Is this the mod to make
a
splash for the top of the counterweight bracket? Every time I've spoken to
Nevelle about doing the wing setting prior to bonding the top on, he's been
adamant that the top needs to be on to ensure rigidity and so the wing
settings don't change. His position is the extra time and difficulty is
nothing compared to wings improperly set for ever!

Thanks
