Get rid of that large metal pipe running through the fuselage and it'd
be fine at the top. :-)
Most people are happy to make a bracket in from the fuselage side and
house it out of sight.

I am surprised how some aviation radio specialists haven't clicked to
the fact that fiberglass planes are not the same as metal planes. We had
an active GPS aerial fitted to ZK-UBD last year and the guy who fitted
it put it on the outside of the aircraft rather than inside. He looked
quite surprised when I showed him that it worked just as well under the
skin!
