By all means use peel ply to achieve neat edges and always where another
layup will go on top, however don't rely on the peel ply alone for a good
bond. Always sand as well because some peel ply has Scotch proof treatment
and any residue of this will degrade the bond.
Don't remove the peel ply until just before the next layup, it keeps things
clean.
Buy rubber squeegees from ASpruce, much better than the bits of plastic.
You could use peel ply on big surfaces provided it lays up transparent so
you can see any bubbles or lightness. If you do treat it as a further layup
and wet it out properly. Cheaper and safer without though.
If you weigh the glass you are going to wet out, then mix the same weight
of resin plus 20 per cent you will be pretty close to an ideal layup.
