Thanks for your posting to the Europa group. I missed the discussion on
rec.aviation.homebuilt so I look forward to reviewing it in you web pages.

When you say Aero Computer are you talking about glass cockpit displays
like those produced by Silvaire Avionics?

My interest is a practical, moderately priced, solid-state replacement for
all flight, engine and nav instruments (VOR/ADF and GPS/moving map). A
single large screen would be ideal. Digital display would be sufficient for
day VFR although analogue would be preferred because of the requirement for
occasional/emergency IFR.

I assume that taking, say the ASI feed from an extant ASI, would removed
the need for the computer. So some sort of dumb, hence low cost, sensor
would be required. All the processing and calibration etc would be taken
care of by the software.

Is this the sort of thing you have in mind?
