The FAA has reevaluated the regulations concerning compensation in an
experimental
airplane. The problem came about when some organizations sold rides in warbirds
and other unusual aircraft under the pretense that they were flight instruction.
As a result, you are now required to have a Letter of Deviation Authority
(LODA) to receive or provide aircraft-specific training in an aircraft
certificated in the experimental category.
To get a LODA for your airplane, just follow this link:
https://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/vintage_experimental/examiners/media/LODA_Template.pdf
The form is easy to complete, is all done on line, there is no cost and you will
receive your LODA by email in a few days.
