Hi Ron, You are asking a carburetion question. When you stop the fuel pump the pressure across the carburettor fuel input valve goes from positive (5 psi I believe) to negative actual boost pressure I would think. I would guess that the only way to keep the engine running is by removing all boost and even then you would have extremely low fuel pressure. All in all I would not like to count on it working.
