Hi
2 things. A 1"+ Surform, a woodworking tool can be used to shave down to
appropriate
shape as well as other suggestions. It works well and doesn't create heat.
Don't slip!
Secondly I used small self tappers pre drilled through Perspex to hold and
tension
screens into place after gluing by screwing them into upper fuselage. Several
of us gotten this advice from a local Aircraft Company that service many Gliders
in the area including lots of canopy replacement work. The holes left after
glue sets and screws removed can be filled carefully and are hidden by paint
line.
Regards
Gerry
