I thought the same and used about four inches of the section and cut most of
it down to blend it in. It has been fine so far.

Subject: Europa-List: Dooor strut repositioning.
I have recently bought the kit from Europa to reposition the gas strut to
cure the bulging at the top rear corner of the doors. It seems a little OTT
as it requires me to glue on a complete back section to the door frame just
to install the lug. I wondered if I might be able to fabricate a small
aluminium lug and rivet it onto the existing frame instead to take the lower
fixing for the gas strut? Any suggestions?
