I happily operate my Tri-gear - 912S - from 500 metres ( 1640 ft ) hedge to hedge. No obstacles beyond the hedges. The strip is 945 feet high. The only situation which might be critical is the abandoned take-off but I have the luxury of being able to turn either way on the ground, at the end of the deceleration, because the strip is in a 150 metre wide field. For a straight strip with no turns possible I would say 2,000 ft ( 610 mtrs ) would be safe. John - G-BXGG |
