The early flap motors were Motion Industries versions identical to all flap
motors in Van's RV series and the motor does not stop on its own, it must be
stopped with the switch. The later versions stop when they reach max
travel.

Sven

My flaps actuator stops on its own at the end of its travel. Either
direction.

Suggest you make a test on the bench with a battery. reversing the voltage
should make it move in the opposite direction.
