Paul,
I tied two sandbags to a rope and hung them over the rear fuselage - then
tied the tailwheel to my Jeep with a big rope.
With the cowl off it won't overheat (at least mine didn't) but I never ran
it for 5 minutes straight.
It is SO fun to start the engine.
