Hi! Fergus ,again. Concerning wire loom runs:- I used the domestic box
section conduit with a removable lid ex. DIY stores down both sides of the
fuselage from the rear luggage bay bulkhead forward and just under the door
reveal. However it was applied after fixing the superstructure to the lower
section. To ensure a flush fit prior to fixing a heat gun can be used to
slightly bend it to follow the contour of the a/c and the lid still clips
on AOK. to fix it I drilled a number of small holes through the back of it
and countersunk from the inside of it then applied a small dab of Redux
so that when the conduit was offered to the side of the buffed a/c it
squeezed a small plug of redux through the predrilled hole in the conduit ,
which when smoothed over into the countersink formed a small rivet of
redux. I recently had to remove one and it needed careful attention with a
chisel !!!!! I'm building a trike so have routed the brake pipes past the
P1's elbow to a handbrake valve also the pitot pipes and quite a bundle of
wires, including the No. 4's battery leads since I've put the battery in
the rear due to counterbalance needed for the heavy MT prop. also co-axial
needs to be accommodated so have needed to double up on the conduits from
the seats forward. The beauty of this is the possibility of future access
for additions since the upholstery in that area can also be lifted from a
velcro overflap.
You will also be best advised to complete the lay-ups in the roof of the
cockpit module whilst you can turn it upside down ,unless you want resin
running "out of your elbow's"!!!!!. I have put a small aluminium conduit
through each lay-up to accommodate GPS co-axial and intercom and headset
wires and routed them all down the starboard forward door reveal and
'glassed' them in prior to upholstery, this keeps the communication
circuits separate from active electrical circuits and consequent
interference.
Regards and Happy New year to all.

Cheers:
I trust your computors are all in fine fettle and that the remaining
yearend bug will not bite further.
I am in the throes of installing the control runs to the XS cockpit
module, sitting benignly on its pedestal. I have been rifling thru all
the messages and Flyers, trying to assemble some sort of plan for
subsequent installations before it descends permanently into its 'canoe'
- and thus becomes a !@#$%
& bottleneck for lines and cables.
        My plea is this:
Does anyone/everyone have an overall diagram of where they have added
runs to the cockpit which might easily have been incorporated at my
present stage? Should I provide (as I have with the wings) for extra
routes for electrical power or signal lines, and where should they go?
for those trailing me, I will broadcast the useful answers at your
request.
Happy Landings
