I have been thinking about doing this but after talking it through with Andy 
Draper
I am inclined to do the layup later. One problem with
fixing the sternpost in before bonding on the top is that you will no longer be
able to get at the rear bulkhead to do the layup required to
fix it to the top fuselage. No doubt there are ways around this but it seems to
me that you end up doing quite a lot of extra work to save
doing one difficult job which by all accounts is not as bad as it seems.
