Hi Lloyd,

The gap at the top of the frame does not have to be in the vertical, or for
that matter in the horizontal plan. As long as there is at least 5mm between
the tube and the corner of the tunnel.
You may find that you have to fit the lower mounting stubs very snug into
the corners to allow the frame to sit low enough to achieve the clearance at
the top, but it is possible.
