The max diameter the Mac stick grips will handle is 1". To make them fit cut the
existing 1 1/4" OD Europa sticks down by about 5", then sleeve them inside (down
about 5") with some 1 1/8" x .058" wall thickness 6061 tubing, glued in with
redux. Then Redux a 10" length of 1" diameter x .083" tubing inside of this
(down about 5") to restore the stick to its original length and fit the stick
top to this.
There are two versions of the Mac stick grips selling for $69.95 and $89.95.
Even the cheaper G5 version has 4 trim buttons and a PTT switch, the more
expensive G7 adds two extra momentary switches. They are available direct from
Mac or from Aircraft Spruce.
The build manual is a bit unclear about setting up the sticks before bonding in
the cockpit module, I set mine up as described and found that the stick top hit
the Instrument panel when pushed full forward. Expect to have to adjust it
later.
