Pete, all products used come from a small company here in the US called Southern Polyurethanes (SPI). They really specialize on primers (their epoxy primer is fantastic) and clears. If you go to their forums (highly recommended if you want to learn a bit about painting) you will see they specialize on expensive car restorations and they do cater a bit to the experimental aircraft community.  

The final result does look very good although I must say that these new paints and guns (so called "EPA Compliant") proved to be a huge challenge despite having done a bit of painting in the past. As the owner of SPI told me (yes, you get to talk to him) his compliant paints suck compared to the old days but they are better than the other ones out there and that the learning curve would be long and steep, he was not kidding :) But I can say I learned a lot (not that I am doing something like this again) and if anyone out there is interested I will share the good and bad of it.

By the time I painted the last part (cowling) I got good at it. I am particularly proud of the outcome of the cowling seam (pics). I hope it lasts.
